The club is in’very advanced’ talks to sign a Manchester City player, but Pep Guardiola is not counting on him.

Manchester City is loaning Nahuel Bustos out once again, according to reports from South America today.

The striker had recently announced his departure from São Paulo, which he had joined just last summer.

The 24-year-old wasn’t getting many minutes at the Brazilian clubs, and as claimed by the local media, his bad relationship with manager Rogério Ceni accelerated his departure.

Now according to the Argentine press, Manchester City is about to loan Bustos to his former club Talleres.

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo writes that the Cordoba club has his arrival ‘very advanced’, as the negotiations with the City Group for a season-long deal are ‘in the final stages.

Manchester City signed Bustos from the very same Tallares on a €6.5m fee in 2020. The striker, however, never had the chance to play under Pep Guardiola.

He was first loaned out to Girona, then São Paulo, and now seems on his way back to the Argentine club.

Since he’s already 24, it’s now starting to look unlikely that he’ll ever wear the Manchester City kit, despite having a contract with them until 2025.
