Tottenham Hotspur has renewed their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Daichi Kamada, according to reports.
Spurs bolstered their squad over the summer, but they are still lacking in midfield creativity.
Some speculated that Tottenham would make a summer move for Christian Eriksen, but that never happened, and Spurs lack guile, especially when Dejan Kulusevski is absent.
Fabio Paratici needs to find some creativity moving forward and one target appears to be coming into focus again.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR ARE BACK IN FOR DAICHI KAMADA
German newspaper Bild report that Tottenham has Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada on their list for a possible transfer.
Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are also keen as they seek to keep Kamada in the Bundesliga.
This situation is becoming a source of major concern for Frankfurt, given that Kamada is out of contract at the end of the season.
It’s stated that talks between Frankfurt and Kamada have now stalled and the expectation is that he will be on his way out.
Kamada, 26, has been in sensational form this season, bagging 12 goals and four assists in 22 games for Frankfurt.
Kamada even scored against Tottenham in the Champions League back in October, showing his quality in front of Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici.
West Ham fans will remember Kamada too as he was outstanding against the Hammers in the Europe League last season, something Joe Cole saw firsthand.
“He gave West Ham absolute nightmares,” said Cole whilst speaking to ITV Sport at the World Cup last month.
“He was playing in the pockets, he’s got lovely feet and weight of the pass, and he was playing against a very good player in Declan Rice as well – he’s a top, top player,” he added.
The Japanese playmaker has been featuring at the World Cup in Qatar and Tottenham may now be in a position to strike.
Paratici loves a free transfer and may fancy pulling off a similar deal for Kamada, but Tottenham should be looking to offer a cut-price deal in January.
That may give Tottenham a real chance of beating Dortmund in this race, potentially giving Conte the creative attacking midfielder he is really lacking.
