Liverpool has recently been given the opportunity to sign a Brazilian player on loan, who is 23 years old.

According to reports, Matheus Cunha has been offered to Liverpool. Atletico Madrid presented a compelling offer.

This is from 90 minutes. They assert that Matheus Cunha is looking for a new home with Atletico Madrid. To do that, clubs must make him available, with Liverpool being one of them.

Additionally, Atletico has a deal in mind. They’re open to sending him somewhere on loan with the possibility of purchase. In other words, a club can consider Cunha before making a final choice.

As a result, the deal is reportedly being considered by “many sides”. Although it isn’t specified whether Liverpool is one of those, we’d like to see the deal.

Liverpool offered Matheus Cunha

We’re fans of Cunha and actually hoped Liverpool would make a move for him back in 2021. He was shining brightly for Hertha BSC, despite them battling relegation at the time.

And Cunha did that as a 22-year-old. He’s got the ability to create and score goals – after all, there’s a reason he’s managed to win 8 caps for Brazil over the last two years.

Cunha is now 23 and not really working out at Atletico. Not that he’s the only one you can say that about – Joao Felix is reportedly leaving the club in 2023.

In other words, Cunha just isn’t at the right club. That gives an opportunity for the ‘right’ club to make a move and that could well be Liverpool. They’ve lost Luis Díaz for the next few months, while Diogo Jota is out, too. Cunha could cover for them in the forward positions.

And perhaps he’s a long-term option to replace Roberto Firmino? He’s out of contract in the summer and the Reds will want someone new. Cunha’s creativity could fill his void – or at least show Liverpool an alternative while they mull over a new contract.

We’d be interested to see Liverpool try Cunha for six months, then. There doesn’t seem to be much to lose.
