Pedro Porro’s transfer negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur have advanced as a result of manager Antonio Conte’s demand made behind the scenes.

According to recent reports, Spurs have already started contract talks with the former Manchester City player ahead of the transfer deadline next month.

This occurs as Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici look for improvements at right wing-back, as the former is not happy with either Matt Doherty or Emerson Royal at the moment.

As a result of Porro’s success for Sporting in the Portuguese top division since permanently leaving City, the north Londoners have taken notice and are considering a move for him.

THE LATEST: SPURS ‘ACCELERATE TALKS’ FOR PORRO…

A fresh update out of Portugal, courtesy of O Jogo (via Sport Witness), brings the latest on the defender’s future, and it involves Spurs.

The Lilywhites and Paratici have reportedly stepped up their chase for Porro as Tottenham ‘ accelerates talks’ over his January signing.

The 23-year-old impressed against Spurs in the Champions League earlier this season, and Conte is now demanding a more attacking full-back for his system.

Porro, who has been referred to as a “special” talent by the media, could unquestionably fit the bill if Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is looking for an attack-minded full-back.

The Spaniard, who has four wide-area assists so far this season, is among Sporting’s best players, according to WhoScored.

Porro also ranks among their top two for shots on goal and key passes completed per 90, demonstrating the genuine danger he can present in the forward areas.

The defender would join the Spurs while still being very young and would have a high sell-on value, so this potential transfer makes a lot of sense.
