The Newcastle owners have requested permission from Howe to launch a West Ham player bid.

Before making a move to recruit Harrison Ashby from West Ham, Newcastle is awaiting Eddie Howe’s approval.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Newcastle are interested in signing the 21-year-old Hammer during the January transfer window.

Over the last several months, there have been numerous reports speculating that Ashby would transfer from the London Stadium to St James’ Park.

The youthful right-back may leave the Hammers in six months for free because his contract with the club expires in the summer of 2023.

There is a chance that he could be sold in January for a nominal fee as well. And it seems as though Newcastle could be the club to prise him away from East London…

Newcastle owners have asked Eddie Howe for green light to make West Ham player bid

Sky Sports reckon that the Magpies owners are keen to sign Harrison Ashby in January, but are just waiting for the go ahead from Eddie Howe.

Losing the 21-year-old to Newcastle would be a massive blow for West Ham.

I believe that David Moyes should be doing absolutely everything in his power to prevent this from happening.

He will undoubtedly go on to become an elite right-back, if his attitude and application to work is spot on of course.

Keeping him at the London Stadium would end up saving Moyes millions in the transfer market.

Ashby is a special talent with exceptional technique, impressive energy and speed and a really mature mindset given his tender years.

Let’s just hope that Moyes manages to pull something out the bag and keep him in East London, with Newcastle thought to be lining up a bid for the West Ham ace.
