Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham, is rumored to have increased Daniel Levy’s workload.

Piero Hincapie, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen, is apparently the subject of a “request” from Tottenham manager Antonio Conte to Daniel Levy. The Italian is eager for the 20-year-old to join Cristian Romero in his backline, and Spurs have now entered the competition. The left-sided center-back has been linked with a number of teams recently, including Chelsea.

Following his exploits for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Hincapie has established himself as one of the most sought-after defenders in the world of football. His early performances for Ecuador in the World Cup garnered him recognition as well, but he was left heartbroken when his country was eliminated in the group stage when he gave away a key penalty in the last match against Senegal.

The youngster has been connected with a number of teams in recent weeks, so the tiny hiccup has not discouraged his admirers. While looking for a less expensive replacement for Josko Gvardiol, Chelsea has reportedly shown a great interest in his services. However, they may now face competition from London rivals.

Conte has reportedly urged Levy to sign Hincapie as he looks to expand his defensive options, according to the Italian magazine Tutto Mercato Web. The center-half is a favorite of the Italian, who is thought to be negotiating a contract for him with Fabio Paratici with an approach suggested for the summer or January.
