Another transfer update about Liverpoo is available from the journalist who broke the Gakpo news.

When it comes to journalists covering Liverpool, they don’t come more trustworthy than Paul Joyce.

Indeed, the Times journalist is known for being the first person to break many major stories about the Reds before anyone else.

Joyce was the first person to report the club’s interest in Darwin Nunez in the summer, while he broke the news of the Reds’ pursuit of Cody Gakpo on Boxing Day.

Now, when writing in The Times, Joyce has given another update about Liverpool, and sadly, this one isn’t as exciting.

Indeed, according to Joyce, Liverpool’s incoming transfer business for January is done and dusted unless an incredible opportunity presents itself to the Reds.

It would be logical to suggest that Liverpool won’t make another signing next month, but we have heard this before from Joyce.

The same report stated that Liverpool’s transfer business was done in the summer after the signing of Calvin Ramsay, but as we all know, the Merseyside club did make a deadline-day loan move for Arthur Melo.

If Liverpool is to make another late transfer during this window, they will hope that it turns out to be better than their move for Arthur.

The Brazilian really hasn’t made any sort of impact at Anfield yet, and, in all honesty, he’s starting to look like a rather pointless signing.

It is somewhat surprising to hear that the Reds aren’t planning on making any further signings. After all, there is a massive need for a new midfielder on Merseyside. However, perhaps that is being put to one side until the summer when a potential move for Jude Bellingham could come onto the agenda.

As for now, Liverpool fans can rest easily throughout January knowing that the club isn’t going to be super busy this winter.
