Manchester City’s January budget is likely to be enhanced as a result of Tottenham’s recent signing activity.

Manchester City is reportedly set for a £ 9 million boost to their January transfer budget should Tottenham complete the signing of Sporting CP star Pedro Porro.

According to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi (via football. London), Porro is set to join Antonio Conte’s side for a deal in the region of £ 30 million. The 23-year-old signed for City in 2019 but never made an appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The right-back was sent out on loan to Real Valladolid and subsequently Sporting, where he would then make his move a permanent one to Portugal. It now seems as if Porro is set for a return to the Premier League, yet a clause in the youngster’s contract looks to provide a financial boost for the Blues in the winter window.

The city is set to receive 30 percent of any profit that Sporting makes on Porro’s sale – meaning that should Spurs agree on a fee of £30m with the Portuguese club, Guardiola’s side would be handed an extra £9m to spend in January.

Elsewhere, The Athletic has claimed that City is not ‘thought to be interested’ in a deal for Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix.

A host of Premier League clubs have reportedly been competing to sign Felix ahead of the January window, with both Arsenal and Manchester United looking the most likely to tempt the 23-year-old to England. However, it is now understood that City will not be throwing their hat into the ring for the Portugal international’s signature.

Should Bernardo Silva leave the club in January, City’s stance may well change, but for now, it appears that Guardiola is currently content with the chance of Felix joining title rivals Arsenal this winter.
