According to reports, Liverpool has made contact with a famous footballing family’s huge 6ft 4inch midfielder.

Liverpool has held conversations with OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram over a potential transfer, according to FootballTransfers.com.

As per the report, the Reds have suffered a big blow as Atalanta will refuse to sell target Teun Koopmeiners this month.

Consequently, Jurgen Klopp will need to look elsewhere if he is to secure a midfield addition in January.

While the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Nunes have been linked for the summer, the Merseyside club has been looking for quick replacements.

Liverpool has held talks with Nice teenager Thuram, according to FootballTransfers.com, alongside Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach.

According to L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 club paid £13 million for the kid last summer.

Liverpool holds talks with Thuram

Standing at 6ft 4 inches tall, Thuram would add a strong presence to Klopp’s midfield.

At the moment, Liverpool has looked somewhat feeble in the middle of the park, seemingly without the ability to make a tackle.

As a result, the 21-year-old would slot in perfectly, perhaps coming in for the tired-looking Fabinho in the defensive midfield position.

Son of France legend Lilian Thuram, the youngster’s brother, Marcus – who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach, has also been linked with a move to Anfield in recent times.

However, it now appears the younger of the two brothers is the likelier target for the Reds to pursue, as they navigate a crisis in their midfield.

Thuram has appeared in every Ligue 1 and Europa Conference League game for Nice this season.

Liverpool needs a steady player in the middle of the park, and at 21 years old, it appears the Frenchman is the appropriate match.

As a result, with so much promise at such a young age, this may be a fantastic signing for Klopp.
