The Carabao Cup has been reduced to the last eight teams, with Manchester United and Manchester City among those in action this week in the hopes of advancing to the semi-finals.

The FA Cup’s third round has concluded, and it is now time for the Carabao Cup to take center stage.

Manchester United advanced to the Carabao Cup quarterfinals after defeating League One Charlton Athletic at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. United won 3-0 courtesy of an early goal from Antony and two late goals from substitute Marcus Rashford.

Newcastle United, who defeated Leicester 2-0 in the second half with to goals from Dan Burn and Joelinton, will join them in the semi-final draw.

The other two matches will take place on Wednesday, with Nottingham Forest hosting fellow Premier League strugglers Wolves and Manchester City traveling to Southampton.

Every remaining team is vying for the first piece of silverware in the 2022/23 season. And here’s all you need to know about the Carabao Cup.

The Carabao Cup semi-final draw will take place on Wednesday, January 11, immediately following the conclusion of the last quarter-final between Southampton and Manchester City.

Unless it proceeds to penalties, which are being used instead of extra time to break stalemates in the quarter-finals, that match should end at 9.45 pm.

Mark Chapman, a TV broadcaster, will host the draw, which will be joined by Lionesses icon Jill Scott and former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.

How to View the Draw
The draw will be broadcast live on the Carabao Cup’s Twitter account. It will also be shown live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event, which are also airing Southampton vs. Manchester City.

Sky Sports subscribers may also watch the action on Sky Go. Those without a subscription can watch the draw by purchasing NOW 24-hour access for £11.98.

The semi-finals will consist of two legs. They will begin later in January and will be completed in early February.

The opening legs will be played the week of January 23, with the return matches taking place the following week. The final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 26.

Extra-time and VAR will be used in the semi-finals and final, as opposed to the quarter-finals, which will go directly to penalties if the scores are level at full-time.

Liverpool is the current holder, having defeated Chelsea on penalties 11-10 last year after a 0-0 draw. Man City has won the Carabao Cup five times in the last seven years.
