‘Right now,’ agent responds to reports Man City is competing with Arsenal for £100 million star

Mamuka Jugeli, the agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has rubbished reports that Manchester City is interested in the Napoli ace. He is also suggested to be a transfer target of Arsenal.

Kvaratskhelia has attracted an array of attention among Premier League teams this season after exploding upon arriving in Serie A. Napoli bought the winger from Dinamo Batumi for £10m last July. He has since hit seven and assisted nine goals in 15 Italian top-flight games.

Napoli has also witnessed Kvaratskhelia score twice and lay on two assists in five matches in the Champions League. His haul includes creating a goal against Liverpool, whilst hitting one against Lazio and Juventus in Serie A. He also laid on two assists to beat Juventus 5-1.

The Daily Mail now reports that Manchester City is monitoring Kvaratskhelia’s form with Napoli in view of a transfer. It follows reports by 90min which claimed Arsenal is keeping tabs on the 21-year-old. But the Azzurri would want £100m and are not looking to sell him.

Kvaratskhelia’s incredible start to life at Napoli has also caught Newcastle United’s eye, per The Times. It notes the Magpies have regularly scouted the Georgia star this season. While Calciomercato also claims that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur like the 19-cap ace ‘a lot’.

But Napoli has little interest in letting him leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona so soon. Calciomercato adds that the Azzurri’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, now plans to double Kvaratskhelia’s net €1.2m-a-year (£20k-a/w) salary to €2.4m-a-year (£40k-a/w).

Giuntoli further plans to extend Kvaratskhelia’s contract running from 2027 to 2028 in any pay rise. While the Georgia star’s agent, Jugeli, has now moved to rubbish the reports that Arsenal target Kvaratskhelia’s transfer from Napoli is now of interest to Manchester City.

“I don’t have any papers on my desk, and I suppose neither in the Napoli office,” Jugeli has told Championat. The agent added: “That’s the last thing we’re thinking about right now.”
