According to reports, Levy and Paratici will meet today to discuss signing a £76,000-a-week player for Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur will hold an internal meeting today over the prospect of signing Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma in the January transfer window, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

TOTTENHAM TO HOLD MEETING OVER SIGNING AS ROMA’S NICOLO ZANIOLO

Pedulla has claimed on his website that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and the club’s Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, will hold a meeting with the other senior management personnel at the club today over Zaniolo.

Tottenham wants to sign the £76,000-a-week (SalarySport) attacking midfielder regardless of whether or not Antonio Conte stays as the head coach of the first team beyond the end of the season.

According to Pedulla, Tottenham has proposed a loan deal for Zaniolo with an obligation to make it permanent at the end of the season under certain conditions.

If Tottenham Hotspur sees Nicolo Zaniolo as a player who can be a success at the club in the long term and who can make the team better, then they should sign him in the January transfer window.

A simple loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent under certain conditions really would not convince Roma.

After all, what would the Italian club gain?

Tottenham should either sign Zaniolo on a permanent deal now or bring him on loan with an obligation to buy him at the end of the season in any case.
