Manchester United has made an offer for a versatile player worth £43.8 million, according to reports.

If media reports are to be believed, Manchester United has made an offer to sign American international Weston McKennie.

According to a recent Tutto Mercato Web report, Manchester United has offered Donny van de Beek to Juventus in order to sign the versatile US midfielder.

The current contract of the former Schalke star expires in 2025, and the Old Lady wants 50 million euros (£43.8 million) for his sale.

McKennie can play anywhere in the center of the field, but his main role is as a creative central midfielder for Juventus, where he has three goals and two assists this season.

He played the full 90 minutes in yesterday’s 3-3 Serie A draw with Atalanta. The 24-year-old was a key member of the United States squad that advanced to the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Donny van de Beek has mostly served as a bench warmer at Old Trafford. He was a hit under Ten Hag at Ajax and must have expected his situation to improve with the arrival of the Dutch coach this summer.

Unfortunately, the Netherlands international has spent the majority of this season on the treatment table. He has only started two Premier League games and is currently out with a knee injury.

Ten Hag has primarily used summer signings Casemiro and Eriksen in central midfield, and both have performed admirably.

However, he needs to improve the quality and depth in the center of the park because McTominay and Fred are inconsistent. Should Manchester United try to sign Weston McKennie, in your opinion?
