According to BT in Denmark, Manchester City has ‘joined the battle’ for FC Midtjylland’s Ousmane Diomande.

The 19-year-old joined Portuguese second-division side Mafra on a season-long loan last summer.

Arsenal, Southampton, Benfica, and Sevilla have all made bids for the defender following his loan spell at Mafra. Manchester City has also entered the race.

The English champions are said to have held talks with Midtjylland about the center-back several times this week,’ on Monday and Tuesday. However, Pep Guardiola’s team has yet to make a bid for him.

Sporting events are also included. They made a €5 million bid last week and increased their offer by nearly €3 million on Monday. This is due to their desire to secure Diomande’s services, as well as Manchester City’s contact with Midtjylland.

Despite interest from Guardiola’s team and others, BT claims the case is increasingly tilting toward the player’s sale to Sporting. The Lions have held positive talks with the Danish club, and the two clubs could reach an agreement for around €10 million.

Although Sporting appears to be ahead, the report makes it clear that the saga is far from over, which may provide some hope for Manchester City.
