West Ham is monitoring Foxes target Tete, according to the latest Leicester City transfer news.

Tete, a Leicester City target, is being “monitored” by West Ham ahead of a possible January transfer.

The city is interested in signing the Shakhtar Donetsk winger this month as manager Brendan Rodgers seeks to add more width in attacking areas to his squad.

However, a move may be difficult given that the 22-year-old is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Lyon. That means Leicester would have to reach agreements with both Shakhtar and Lyon before relocating the Brazilian to Filbert Way.

However, Leicester is not the only Premier League club interested, as our colleagues at The Mirror report that West Ham is keeping an eye on Tete’s situation.

The winger has six goals in 17 appearances for Lyon this season, and the club has the option to make his loan move permanent for £17.5 million. Shakhtar is willing to sell, but the ball ultimately belongs to Lyon. Even if they do not wish to purchase the winger, they must agree to the termination of his loan before he can join the Premier League.

Leicester would be “first in the Premier League queue” if that happened, according to the Mirror, because of their long-standing interest in the Brazil under-23 international.
