‘Liverpool will be the most difficult,’ Gary Neville admits fearfully.

During his nearly two decades with Manchester United, he regularly faced the lions at Anfield and Goodison Park. Gary Neville, on the other hand, has a cheerful sense of trepidation as he prepares to bravely perform in front of thousands of supporters in Liverpool.

Neville, who has long preferred the commentary gantry to the pitch, will be at the M&S Bank Arena this evening for the first night of The Overlap Live, a four-date tour of his popular YouTube channel. With fellow Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane joining him on stage, there will at least be safety in numbers. Kenny Dalglish will make an appearance as a special guest.

Liverpool may give four major hints that a busy summer transfer window is on the way.

Four of Liverpool’s most iconic shirt numbers could be up for grabs this summer as the Reds plan their biggest squad overhaul since 2018.

FSG approved a £174.75 million spending spree following Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, with Jurgen Klopp bringing in Alisson Becker, Naby Keita, Fabinho, and Xherdan Shaqiri. Such investment was rewarded by the Reds finishing the season as European champions, lifting their first trophy under the German, and forging their first title challenge under his watch.

Liverpool has won every major trophy since, establishing themselves as one of Europe’s best teams. However, after nearly completing an unprecedented quadruple last year, the Reds are now in transition, with their mentality monsters now an aging squad.

As a result, Liverpool is expected to be active in the transfer market, with a midfield overhaul high on the priority list after overhauling their attack in the previous 12 months. With a number of players set to leave Anfield, some of the club’s most recognizable numbers may find new owners.
