The lucrative financial details of Jack Harrison’s proposed move to Leicester City are detailed below…

In the midst of his proposed deadline-day move to Leicester City, Jack Harrison was approached with a five-and-a-half-year deal away from Leeds United.

According to The Athletic, Leeds pulled the plug on Harrison’s move to Leicester late on deadline day, despite the winger traveling south to begin a medical.

A very lucrative contract for Harrison was on the table, offering him longer-term security than what is currently agreed upon at Elland Road.

Further down in this The Athletic report, it’s detailed how Harrison was offered a five-and-a-half-year deal, plus a significant pay increase over what he’s on at Leeds, as Leicester attempted to reach an agreement.

Harrison initially joined Leeds on loan in 2018, before signing a three-year contract with Manchester City in the summer of 2021.

That contract has only 18 months left on it, with the last month representing Leeds’ last chance to maximize Harrison’s value in the absence of a new agreement.

Harrison, 26, has made 186 appearances for Leeds in his Elland Road career, scoring 30 goals and providing 29 assists.

From Harrison’s perspective, despite suggestions that he wanted to stay at Elland Road, a move on deadline day would have been a good one.

Leicester was offering Harrison a long-term contract with a pay increase that would last well into his 30s.

As things stand, he’s approaching the end of his contract with Leeds, and no offer to extend it has been made, as far as we know.

That will have to change in the coming months if Leeds are to secure their asset and compensate for Harrison’s missed deadline day move.
