Tottenham call up a 19-year-old for pre-Man City training; he’s a’really creative’ playmaker

Tottenham Hotspur will concentrate entirely on finishing the season strongly now that the January transfer window has closed.

Spurs’ season hasn’t been easy, with far too many underwhelming performances and displays.

Nonetheless, Tottenham has a solid foundation to build on and hopefully achieve a lot this season.

Spurs are only three points off the top four in the Premier League and are still in the Champions League and FA Cup.

Tottenham’s next Premier League match is against Manchester City on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs shared photos from the team’s most recent training session on Wednesday.

Romaine Mundle, a Tottenham academy product, also took part in the session at Hotspur Way.

‘A very technical footballer,’ says the coach.
The 19-year-old is currently a member of Tottenham’s Under-21 team and has made 24 appearances this season.

Mundle has yet to make his senior Spurs competitive debut. He did, however, come off the bench against Pacos de Ferreira in 2021 and in the FA Cup victory over Portsmouth in January.

Superhotspur wrote a detailed feature article on Mundle in the summer of 2021.

“Capable of playing as a winger on either flank, Mundle can also play as a CAM or central midfielder,” the article began.

“A very creative player who is quick and direct with the ball on the flanks. (Mundle) is extremely dependable on the ball and rarely loses possession.

“A player who takes up intelligent forward positions both out wide and in the opposition’s penalty area, he is a good passer of the ball and I have always been impressed with his crosses into the box.

“A very technical footballer who is really skillful on the ball, the player who has been at Spurs for a long time tracks back and helps out the full-back well also, and he is a real team player.

“His ability to pick a pass and get a really good amount of assists has made him a really important player for the Spurs Under-18 side over the last couple of seasons.”

It’s fantastic to see Tottenham give standout academy players a chance.
