The latest Leicester City news is that the winger was on the verge of completing a deadline-day move to the King Power Stadium when Leeds pulled the plug.
There has been another twist in the Jack Harrison transfer saga surrounding Leeds United and Leicester City, with the player now reportedly ‘considering his future’ at Elland Road before signing a new contract.
The 26-year-old was closing in on a deadline day move to City, with the two clubs said to have agreed on a fee of £20m plus add-ons for the player. Harrison made the journey to City’s Seagrave Training complex where he had started his medical before Leeds pulled the plug on a deal.
Brendan Rodgers has since revealed that he spoke with Harrison about a possible move to City and that the City manager was surprised that the deal did not go through. “It was unexpected that the player would be available in the first instance,” he said.
Brendan Rodgers has a full squad of Leicester City players available for the match against Aston Villa.

“When it gets as far as it did… I met the player and spoke with the player. It is something that did not occur.”
According to reports this week, the winger is now set to sign a new contract with Leeds, with the Whites offering Harrison new terms following the deadline day drama. However, it now appears that a new agreement may not be as close as previously thought.
According to 90min Harrison is ‘considering his options’ before putting pen-to-paper on a new deal at Elland Road. The report adds that the player will only sign a new deal if he feels that he is ‘an important part’ of the club’s plans over the next few years.
Harrison has just 18 months left on his contract with Leeds, meaning that he could potentially be available for a cheaper price in the summer should he not sign a new contract. That could encourage City to try again for the winger when the transfer window opens.
Speaking about the decision to pull the plug on a deal, Leeds boss Jesse Marsch said that it shows how important the player is to the club.
He said: “It’s a chance for us to solidify exactly how we feel about Jack and there hasn’t been many times a player has learned how invested a club is in them. Once we got all the decision-makers to align themselves, Jack had to stay.”
