Tete has already made an impact on Leicester City, according to James Maddison.

The latest Leicester City news as the midfielder has spoken about the impact of the three January signings on both himself and the squad following the 4-2 win over Aston Villa.

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has said that the arrival of Tete to the club will now allow him to play in what he believes is his best position, while also outlining the boost that the new signings have given to the club.

Tete, along with Victor Kristiansen and Harry Souttar all started their first Premier League game on Saturday as City came out as 4-2 winners over Aston Villa. Tete instantly became a fans’ favorite with his goalscoring performance on the right wing.

The Brazilian taking up that position meant that Maddison lined up in his preferred number 10 role, instead of starting on the right. The England man was also on the scoresheet as he marked his first Premier League start since the World Cup.

Speaking to LCFCTV after the game, Maddison hailed the impact of Tete, who he described as ‘absolutely brilliant’. He also explained how the Brazilian will benefit both him and the team.

“I’ve heard the gaffer say it’s nice to have that direct width. I’m a player who is best in the center, and I’ve been playing off the right wing a little bit and doing well. I’ve kind of learned the role, and I’m happy to play there, but I’m best in the center.

“I think I’m at my best in those areas when I’m in the middle. So having Tete come in and be that threat, and he was absolutely brilliant today, it was a real fiery debut, and hopefully, he can continue that, was a real bonus.

“But with him and Harvey on the wings, they run in behind. When I play off the side, I have to play a little different because my skill set isn’t that of a winger, and we have to shape the team a little differently.

“But it’s nice to be back in the middle, to have the pace and width from them two, and I think it worked well.”

Fans were ecstatic when Kristiansen, Tete, and Souttar arrived in the transfer window. They were also the club’s first permanent signings in the winter window in five years.

Maddison emphasized the impact that just three new faces can have in the locker room, on the training field, and on the field.

“Additionally, the signings coming in in January, which is why you really need to make signings, because it gives everyone a lift, it gives you guys, the fans, every one a lift,” he added. “But it also gives the players a boost because you have new players coming in in training and you want to impress, they want to impress, it does give that lift mentally and it’s exactly what you need when you need to push for the second half of the season, which we do because we’re not in the best position in the league.” league, and we need to improve.

“We’re still in the FA Cup, a good win today, and if we can kick on. As you mentioned, if we have a good second half of the season, it should be a really positive ending.”
