Leicester is’serious’ about the player and has already ‘put €27 million on the table’ for a transfer.

Leicester City is serious about signing Torino defender Per Schuurs during the summer transfer window.

According to Torino Granata, the Serie A club turned down a €27 million bid for the Dutchman.

Leicester has struggled defensively this season, with the loss of Wesley Fofana to Chelsea still stinging.

Wout Faes has filled the void, but those around him have struggled for form, with Jannik Vestergaard, Jonny Evans, and Daniel Partey failing to impress and Caglar Söyüncü falling out of favor.

The latter is set to leave for Atletico Madrid in the summer, while Evans and Amartey are also out of contract.

That resulted in the signing of Harry Souttar in the January transfer window, but it appears the Foxes are not done yet, as they are also interested in Schuurs.

Leicester, according to Torino Granata, are’serious’ about the Dutchman, having increased a recent bid by €1 million and ‘put €27 million on the table’ for him.

That didn’t go far enough to persuade Torino, who now value the player at €40 million and are thus uninterested in what the Foxes have proposed.

If they want to sign the 23-year-old this summer, it appears they will have to significantly increase their bid.
