Leeds United’s draw at Manchester United gives Newcastle a chance to finish in the top four.

Leeds appeared to be on track to end their winless streak, but a draw with the Red Devils has given Newcastle an opportunity.

Following tonight’s draw at Manchester United, Leeds United has given Newcastle a fantastic opportunity. The Whites, who parted ways with manager Jesse Marsch in midweek, had not won at Old Trafford in 41 years before tonight, and it appeared that run was about to end.

Coaches Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo, and Chris Armas took a shock lead at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville, only for Marcus Rashford and Jared Sancho to equalize in the second half. Leeds’ winless streak continues, but they stunned Manchester United for a while.

The Magpies are now only three points behind Erik ten Hag’s side and have a game in hand on the Red Devils. With a win at Bournemouth this weekend, Eddie Howe’s side can reclaim first place from Manchester United due to their superior goal difference.

Ten Hag’s men will not play again until Sunday when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United. The Magpies will be hoping for another strong performance from the Yorkshire side, who could dent Manchester United’s Premier League title hopes even further.

Newcastle will be without Bruno Guimaraes for this weekend’s trip to Bournemouth, as the Brazilian serves the second of a three-match suspension before hosting Liverpool at St. James’ Park in just over a fortnight. The Reds are on a roll, but they are the only team to beat Howe’s men in the Premier League this season.
