Newcastle United are interested in Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and pundit Jamie Carragher believes the winger can ‘achieve anything’ in the game.
The 22-year-old is having a fantastic first season in Italy after joining Napoli last summer. Kvaratskhelia only cost them £9 million, but he is now one of Europe’s best players, and Newcastle are interested in signing him.
The Magpies are interested in Kvaratskhelia, according to the Times last year. According to reports, he is one of PIF’s top targets for the next two transfer windows.
A January transfer was obviously not possible, but the summer transfer window is now on the horizon. Although he would be an incredible addition to St James’ Park, Napoli wants him to stay and intends to re-sign him.
But the Georgian attacker will be in high demand, and Carragher believes he has the ability to play for the world’s biggest club, Real Madrid.

The former Liverpool defender spoke to CBS Sports ahead of last night’s Champions League games, and he was full of praise for Kvaratskhelia.
“I think he’s Europe’s most exciting player,” Carragher said.
“I agree with you. Someone like him comes along very rarely. You’ve seen the actual price tag he’s come for, and right now he appears to be capable of achieving anything and playing for Real Madrid. Next season, he could be seen in a Real Madrid shirt.
“I believe he’s a one-of-a-kind player.”

That is incredibly high praise from Carragher, and he is completely justified in saying it. Kvaratskhelia proved him right last night, and was influential in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Frankfurt.
He provided an assist during the Champions League Last of 16 first leg – his latest goal contribution in what is turning out to be an outrageous season.
Kvaratskhelia has now made 25 appearances in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side. He has scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists. At his current rate, he is providing at least one goal a game.
His numbers are remarkable, which is why clubs all over the world are keen to sign him. The likes of Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City have been linked.
Newcastle are also in the mix, and he would be a blockbuster signing by Dan Ashworth. However, a deal will surely only be possible if we qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Even that won’t guarantee his arrival, as Kvaratskhelia is proving that he has the ability to play for whoever he wants. Carragher thinks he is even good enough to play for Real Madrid, and it is hard to disagree.
