Raya on Brentford’s future amid Spurs links
David Raya has revealed he has already turned down two contract offers from Brentford amid reported interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Raya is out of contract at the end of next season with the Bees and the Spain international is said to be keen on testing himself at the top level. Both Chelsea and Spurs could be in the market for a new shot-stopper in the summer with Hugo Lloris now 36 years old and neither Edouard Mendy nor Kepa Arrizabalaga having done enough to show they are at the level to play regularly at Stamford Bridge.
Raya has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season with Brentford punching well above their weight in pursuit of a place in Europe. But that still may not be enough to keep Raya at the Brentford Community Stadium, with the 27-year-old admitting the club’s offers of a new deal have not met his expectations and his eyes firmly on the top.

Harry Kane has revealed that Oliver Skipp’s hard work on the training pitch has paid off following his first Tottenham goal in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea. Handed another start in midfield with Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma currently on the sidelines, the England Under-21 international opened the scoring seconds after half-time with a thunderous strike from distance.
Getting the better of Joao Felix on the edge of the box to come out with the ball after Chelsea had managed to partially clear their lines following Emerson Royal’s shot, Skipp let fly and his powerful effort found the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar. The midfielder duly ran off to the far corner to celebrate his first goal for the club, with all of his teammates quickly sprinting over to congratulate him on the landmark occasion.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Skipp did indicate that the team has been working hard in training when it comes to winning second balls on the edge of the area and then finishing the chances.
