Leeds United has slapped a £30million-plus price tag on goalkeeper Illan Meslier, sources have told Football Insider.

The Frenchman, 23, is one of of the club’s prize assets and of interest to multiple Premier League clubs ahead of the summer.

He is believed to be valued by Leeds at over £30m as a reflection of his consistent excellence and his potential to further develop.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (11 March) that Meslier is one of three stars along with Jack Harrison and Robin Koch expected to leave if they go down.

Leeds is locked in a relegation battle and is 19th in the Premier League following Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Brighton.

Meslier is tied to a long-term Whites contract that runs until the summer of 2026.

The keeper made a permanent Elland Road in 2020 for around £5m from Lorient following a successful loan spell with the Yorkshire club.

There has been growing speculation around Meslier’s future this season and back in November journalist Michael Bridge claimed that Tottenham was eyeing up the shot-stopper as a successor for Hugo Lloris.

Lloris’ current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium runs until 2024 but at 36 Spurs are keen to bring in a permanent replacement for the long-serving goalkeeper.

Meslier has made 30 appearances for Leeds so far this season and has kept five clean sheets in those outings.

The Whites signed Spanish keeper Joel Robles on a free transfer from Real Betis in the summer.

The second-choice shot-stopper has made two appearances for the club’s first team and has been unable to oust Meslier since his arrival.

Leeds also has 22-year-old Kristoffer Klaesson to call upon who has only featured for the club’s under-21 side this season.
