Report: West Ham back in for ‘lightning quick’ £13m star after Moyes’ failed January swoop

West Ham United is lining up a move to sign Union Berlin ace Sheraldo Becker, after failing to get a deal for the 28-year-old over the line in January.

David Moyes desperately needs to strengthen his attacking ranks at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, if he is still in charge of the club of course.

The Hammers have been really poor in front of goal this season, and one of the reasons why we’ve lacked any potency in the final third is the fact that we’re completely bereft of any kind of pace.

Alas, the Scot couldn’t get a deal for the Suriname international over the line. It seems as though West Ham could be set to go back in for him this summer though…

West Ham is to go back in for Sheraldo Becker

According to a report from SportBILD, the Hammers face competition from Everton and Nottingham Forest for the Union Berlin attacker.

I believe he’d be a really useful addition to Moyes’s squad at the London Stadium if we manage to beat our Premier League rivals to his signature.

Becker is absolutely rapid player with a real kind of directness that we seem to lack at the London Stadium. He can play on either wing, in the number 10 position, or even as an auxiliary striker.

Give Me Sport recently described the Union Berlin ace as ‘lightning quick’.

He has a real final product as well with eight goals and seven assists in 36 games to his name for Union Berlin so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old would add real depth to Moyes’s options next season and would provide strong competition for our attacking midfielders and wingers.

Union Berlin could demand around £13 million for the Suriname international in the summer transfer window (Yahoo).

And in my opinion, West Ham signing Sheraldo Becker for that kind of money would be a great deal for the club.
