Major West Ham problem as Arsenal reportedly want to sign ‘explosive’ 22-year-old for £31m

West Ham reportedly could miss out on Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is ready to challenge West Ham United for the 22-year-old striker’s signature this summer.

Noah Okafor is someone who West Ham really could do with, mainly because of his blistering pace.

David Moyes has failed to add sufficient pace to his side over the past couple of years and now we are a team totally devoid of it.

I would absolutely love Okafor at the London Stadium but it seems as though we will have our work cut out…

Arsenal enters race to sign West Ham target Noah Okafor

According to a report from The Daily Mail, the Gunners are set to challenge the Hammers for the Red Bull Salzburg forward in the summer transfer window.

It was claimed last year that RB Salzburg will demand around £31 million for the 22-year-old hitman.

That sounds like outstanding value to me.

Okafor has been in fine form for RB Salzburg so far this season, with 10 goals and five assists to his name in 30 outings (Transfermarkt).

His career record for the Austrian side makes for fairly impressive reading as well, with 35 goals and 23 assists in 108 games (Transfermarkt).

The Switzerland international ace is a center-forward by trade but can operate on either wing as well, and that will undoubtedly appeal to both Moyes and Arteta.

Okafor has a really direct playing style and is a great dribbler with a really explosive pace according to Total Football Analysis.

I would absolutely love Noah Okafor at West Ham – he’s exactly what we need, but Arsenal chasing his signature certainly isn’t ideal for Moyes and co.

Considering the contrasting fortunes at the Emirates and the London Stadium at the moment, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out which club has the advantage in the race for the Swiss forward.
