Everton score from a corner, but a talented Newcastle player embarrasses the entire team

Alexander Isak danced around the entire Everton side to produce the assist of the season on Thursday evening – moments after Dwight McNeil had netted directly from a corner

Dwight McNeil might have thought he’d netted the best goal of Everton’s clash with Newcastle United – until Alexander Isak danced around the Toffee’s minutes later.

McNeil whipped a ball towards the front post, and it snuck past everyone, including Nick Pope, to pull a goal back for Everton. However, Newcastle was in no mood for gifts when the ball was passed to Isak from kick-off.

Isak ran down the left wing, dipping, and weaving between the Toffee’s – eventually leaving a pair of defenders for dead on the byline. The Swede then nipped the ball past another, squaring it to an onrushing Jacob Murphy – who tapped home.

“Alexander Isak is a Thierry Henry re-gen and nobody can tell me otherwise,” one fan tweeted. And a second added: “Isak looking like prime R9 in the Prem this league is not serious!”

“Isak you’re world class! He’s made Everton look like a bunch of under 11’s,” a third responded. While a fourth tweeted: “Isak is legit one of the best players in the league!”

“Alexander Isak plays for our football club please let that sink in, this kid is going to be a world beater,” another added. Murphy’s simple tap-in was Newcastle’s fourth of the evening as they took a massive stride to a spot in the top fourth, and a return to the Champions League. The Magpies are currently eight points ahead of fifth-placed Aston Villa.

It’s more bad news for Everton, and their stay in the Premier League looks all but over with only Southampton below Sean Dyche’s side in the table.
