Brighton Predicted lineup v Manchester United

Manchester United takes on Brighton and Hove Albion tonight looking for an important away win.

The one major downer on Manchester United’s season so far has been the club’s unhappy away record against top-half teams.

Tonight’s fixture away at Brighton is a chance to put that right. It won’t be easy. United lost 4-0 at the Amex last season and the Seagulls are in form, smashing Wolves 6-0 at home at the weekend.

United edged past Brighton on penalties in the recent FA Cup semi-final. The home side has added motivation to try and get one over on us.

Predicted Manchester United XI v Brighton

Erik ten Hag made a few subtle changes to his Manchester United line-up against Aston Villa at the weekend which have some bearing on this game, resting players.

As usual, David de Gea will start in goal. At right-back, we expect a fully rested Aaron Wan-Bissaka to return, ready to duel again with Kaoru Mitoma.

We expect Erik Ten Hag to stick with the defense of Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof. It worked well at Wembley.

Tyrell Malacia could continue at left-back after a stirring performance at the weekend, he is back in the good books.

United’s midfield should select itself. CasemiroChristian Eriksen, and captain Bruno Fernandes.

In attack we expect Anthony Martial to lead the line. Erik Ten Hag has been using him sparingly – he played only four minutes at the weekend. That will have kept him fresh to start this one.

Antony also started on the bench against Aston Villa, taking a breather. He will almost certainly return to the starting line-up.

Marcus Rashford has begun up front for the past couple of games but we expect him to revert to his role on the left wing for this game.

Jadon Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer would drop out of the starting line-up to accommodate the two attacking changes, with Diogo Dalot out in defense.
