Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may sanction another summer of hefty transfer spending to attract a top manager.

Tottenham could pull off a bumper £110million double deal this summer with chairman Daniel Levy reportedly keeping tabs on Leicester City duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Splashing out on the Foxes duo would send a message to Spurs’ managerial targets, who may be wary about taking the job in north London after the club’s rocky campaign.

Levy has been forced to assume a more hands-on role with regard to appointing a new manager and making transfer plans following Fabio Paratici’s Tottenham exit. Targets are already being sounded out, with fresh legs and new ideas essential to lift spirits on the terraces.

Things have gone from bad to worse at Spurs in recent weeks, with the sacking of Antonio Conte failing to produce the desired outcome. His successor, Cristian Stellini, was dismissed after just four matches, and new interim boss Ryan Mason has also got off to a troubled start.

Fresh talent could go some way towards turning things around, and The Daily Mail claim that Spurs are keeping tabs on both Barnes and Maddison.

The Foxes are reportedly preparing to sell Maddison this summer, regardless of whether they stay in the Premier League, after years of persistent transfer links to top clubs. Priced at £ 50 million, he would be a big investment for Levy and co, but the 26-year-old has had another productive season with 17 goal contributions in 26 Premier League appearances.
