Report: Leeds United has made a concrete move to replace sam allardyce for a league-winning manager

Leeds United are ‘likely’ to return for Feyenoord boss Arne Slot in their hunt for a new permanent manager this summer.

Arne Slot: Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace keen on Feyenoord manager

That is according to the Athletic, who claim Slot could also be on the wish list of both Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur amid their current managerial uncertainties.

The slot was on the shortlist of Leeds back in February following the sacking of Jesse Marsch, with owner Andrea Radrizzani reportedly happy to pay £ 2.65 million to prise him away from the Dutch outfit.

However, with Feyenoord vying for a league title, Slot opted to stay put which has ultimately paid dividends after they were crowned Eredivisie champions over the weekend.

Leeds likely to reignite Slot interest

Alongside Andoni Iraola and Carlos Corberan, Slot was one of several managerial targets Leeds tried and failed to appoint back in February, amid their perilous position in the Premier League table.

Javi Gracia was eventually appointed as Marsch’s successor but was sacked after just 11 matches following a dreadful run of results in April.

Of course, any chance of Leeds hiring a highly sought-after manager like Slot will depend on whether they are able to maintain their top-flight status in the coming weeks.

The Whites currently sit 18th in the table and a point adrift of Everton in safety, but could once again drop down a place if Leicester City avoid defeat against Liverpool this evening.

There have been signs of improvement under Sam Allardyce in extremely difficult matches against Manchester City and Newcastle United, which will give them confidence ahead of their final two outings against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Should they secure survival and pip both Spurs and Palace to Slot’s signature, it would represent a significant coup and signify the start of a much-needed rebuild at the club.
