Report: West Ham has signed a £35 million striker from London

West Ham manager David Moyes is a big fan of Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun, and he could be used as a makeweight in the Declan Rice deal.

According to FootballTransfers, Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is on the radar of West Ham boss David Moyes ahead of the summer transfer window.

Now this could be interesting with Arsenal keen to sign Hammers skipper Declan Rice this summer.

And FootballTransfers claims that the Gunners could use Balogun as a makeweight in a deal to bring Declan Rice to the Emirates.

Moyes desperately needs to add a top-quality striker who suits his system to his ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

And it seems as though the 21-year-old Arsenal forward could be the man for the job…

Arsenal plan to offer West Ham £35 million star plus cash for Declan Rice

Football Transfers reckon that Balogun could swap north London for East London this summer if Rice heads in the opposite direction.

The 21-year-old forward has been on loan with Reims this season and has been in superb form.

Balogun has bagged 19 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games so far (Transfermarkt). That puts him behind only Kylian Mbappe, Jonathan David, and Alexandre Lacazette in the goalscoring charts.

He has pace and power in abundance and has the ability and potential to go on and become a real star of the game.

Goal claim that Arsenal wants around £35 million for the pacy front-man this summer. That sounds like really good value to me.

So if the Gunners offer us £70 million plus Folarin Balogun for Declan Rice, I think that’s a deal that West Ham should take.

The Arsenal striker has everything that the Hammers currently lack.

I think he could be a really good signing for us. And including him in the Rice deal would then leave Moyes with a massive amount of cash to focus on other areas of his squad that need strengthening.

Evening Standard makes the claim that will have West Ham fans dreaming after an update on the Michail Antonio situation

The Evening Standard has made a claim that will have West Ham fans dreaming after an update on the Michail Antonio situation.

West Ham face one of the biggest games in the club’s modern history in Holland on Thursday night.

The Hammers take on AZ Alkmaar in the second leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final.

The tie is delicately poised at 2-1 to West Ham after David Moyes’ side came from behind to gain a narrow lead at the London Stadium last Thursday night.

The first leg looked to have come at a cost for Moyes

With Gianluca Scamacca out for the season and Danny Ings struggling to adapt to playing the lone striker role at West Ham, Michail Antonio’s return to form in the last couple of months could not have come at a better time.

Antonio was on hand to give West Ham a toe in the final with that winner in the first leg.

But the game looked to have come at a cost for Moyes when Antonio was seen limping following TV interviews on the pitch after the final whistle.

The striker was then absent from the squad for the defeat to Brentford at the weekend with West Ham’s manager confirming he has a calf knock.

That sparked fears Antonio will miss Thursday’s game in Holland. And given how key he has been to West Ham posing a goal threat of late, that would have been a real blow.

For a change, though, there appears to be some good news on the injury front for the Hammers.

With Mich in attack, Hammers can dream about Prague’s final

Because The Evening Standard has made a claim that will have West Ham fans dreaming after an update on the Antonio situation.

The newspaper’s West Ham reporter has been told Antonio’s absence at Brentford was merely ‘precautionary’.

And word from inside the club is that West Ham are hopeful the striker will be fit to face AZ later this week.

The prospect of West Ham playing without Antonio at the moment does not bear thinking about.

So that is very welcome news indeed. And it will have Hammers fans dreaming of seeing the job through and making the final in Prague against either Basel or Fiorentina.

We’ll be keeping our fingers, Hammers crossed!
