Defender Diego Llorente will return to Leeds United in the summer after AS Roma decided not to sign him on a permanent basis.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the Italian side is already tying up a deal for Evan N’Dicka as a replacement.

The newspaper explains that Roma is close to finalizing a deal for the Eintracht Frankfurt center-back, whose contract with the German side expires in the summer. He will sign a five-year deal worth €2m a year to move to Rome.

When he arrives, he will occupy Llorente’s space in the locker room, with him set to return to Leeds once his loan spell comes to an end.

He’s been on loan with the Italian side since the end of the January transfer window but despite him proving to be a ‘good player’ he will not be bought as Leeds are ‘demanding €18m’.

That, it seems, is a figure that Roma does not feel is value for money and so they are instead signing N’Dicka on a free transfer.
