‘Shock’ – Jamie Redknapp shares new Leeds prediction live on Sky Sports

Jamie Redknapp believes Leeds United can shake up the relegation dogfight by picking up a “shock” result against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday (21 May).

The Whites currently sit in the Premier League drop zone, sitting one point behind Everton in 17th place with two games of their season remaining.

Speaking live on Sky Sports (18 May), Redknapp predicted that Sam Allardyce would fancy his chances of going back to haunt his old club after the Hammers sealed their place in the Europa Conference League final with a victory against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday evening.

“That Leeds game is a big one,” he said.

“To go to West Ham, who have just got to a major final, it might be a good time to play them.

“That might be the one game that we might see a real shock there, and Leeds can possibly go and get something.

“Obviously, Big Sam is going back to where he was a manager, so that’s a big one as well.

Great chance

Although there is no such thing as a team being on the beach, West Ham will be as close to this as possible for this weekend’s clash.

The celebrations are likely to have gone late into the night after David Moyes’ side progressed through to the Europa Conference League final, and this can’t have played into Allardyce’s hands any better.

The Whites would have been looking for any chinks in the West Ham armor possible before their Premier League clash, and as shown by their opponents’ 2-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend, European exploits can certainly affect Premier League form.

Of course, Leeds has got to travel down to what will probably be a bouncing London Stadium and still deliver the goods, but they will certainly fancy their chances.

With a tough test against Spurs awaiting on the last day of the season, this match takes on yet more importance.

This is simply a must-win game for Allardyce and his team.

In other Leeds United news, Jeff Stelling has predicted the result of the pivotal clash between the Hammers and the Whites.
