As the star holds “talks,” Man Utd is “following” a free agent that Arsenal “are always interested in.”

Man Utd is one of a number of clubs interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans on a free transfer this summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking to bring in a new midfielder in the summer transfer window with a number of players linked to Old Trafford.

Summer signings Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been big successes this season but Man Utd are still relying on Scott McTominay and Fred if they suffer a couple of injuries.

Erik ten Hag is hoping to improve the depth in central midfield with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot another free transfer linked to the Premier League club.

And Sport Italia journalist Rudy Galetti has touched on their interest in signing Belgium international Tielemans who is out of contract at Leicester at the end of June.

Arsenal have been constantly linked with Tielemans over the last couple of years but Galetti insists the Gunners no longer see him as a “priority” with Man Utd and others “following” his situation.

Galetti told GiveMeSport: “We can see that Arsenal is always interested in Tielemans. Even if at the moment we can no longer consider them treating the race for the Leicester player as a priority.

“Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Borussia Dortmund are following with attention the midfielder and they can probably guarantee more game time, especially the German club with the sale of Bellingham in June.”

Roma have also been linked in the Italian press over the weekend with Gazzetta dello Sport insisting that the Serie A side is ‘in talks’ with Tielemans as he decides his next club.

Man Utd fans are still no closer to finding out whether the Glazers will sell the club to Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe this summer after the former launched a new offer for the club last week.

With only a few weeks until the transfer window opens, there are concerns that the takeover process could impact Ten Hag’s plans for the summer transfer window.

But the Dutchman is focused on securing a top-four finish in the Premier League to give Man Utd that crucial Champions League spending money.

When asked late last week if the ownership situation needed to be resolved quickly, Ten Hag said: “I don’t know. For me, it is about finance and that there is money available to do the right things. But first of all, we have to be in the Champions League and the top four and that is our focus.

“We do our job in the background and we are working hard, but, for now, it is about games, getting into the Champions League and the FA Cup.”
