Newcastle United were without the winger for Thursday night’s 4-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Newcastle United could have Jacob Murphy available to face Leicester City tonight (kick-off 8 pm) after the winger dropped a big hint on social media.
The 28-year-old was forced to withdraw from the starting XI at Leeds United earlier this month due to a sore groin. He was named among the substitutes but wasn’t risked during the 2-2 draw.
For the visit of Brighton to St James’ Park four days later, Murphy has left out of the matchday squad altogether, though got involved in the celebrations as United moved one step closer to Champions League qualification with a 4-1 win.
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe was unable to confirm on Friday if Murphy would return against Leicester but the player has appeared to confirm his availability by his social media account.

Newcastle fans await news on a possible return for Sean Longstaff. The Geordie midfielder has missed matches against Arsenal, Leeds, and Brighton because of a foot injury.
“At this moment, being honest, he’s doubtful,” Howe said before the weekend. He hasn’t trained. He’s improving but we’ll wait and see.”
With Joe Willock (hamstring) likely to miss the remaining two games, Elliot Anderson is in contention for only his second-ever Premier League start.
