Everton star wanted by PL rivals with behind-the-scenes agreement already in place

West Ham want to sign Everton duo Jordan Pickford and Amadou Onana this summer, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The pair could be sought after by the Hammers should the Toffees be relegated from the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit currently sit two points above the relegation zone with just one match remaining.

The Hammers meanwhile have secured their safety, but are keen to strengthen their squad for the next campaign.

They have been handed in a boost in their pursuit of Pickford, with the goalkeeper having a gentleman’s agreement in place to leave Goodison Park if Everton are relegated, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs (25 April).

“There is also some interest in Jordan Pickford and Amadou Onana should Everton drop,” said ExWHUEmployee, as quoted by The West Ham Way.

Two top players

As always, the relegated sides from the Premier League could be quickly picked apart by clubs who have secured their safety for another season, with that once unthinkable scenario now very much a reality at Everton.

The Toffees have endured a miserable campaign, and are in real danger of dropping down to the Championship.

However, their fate is still in their own hands, with a win against Bournemouth on Sunday (28 May) set to keep them in the top flight.

Even if that safety is secured, it remains uncertain what will happen to their top players, with Pickford and Onana both confident of playing at a much higher level.

West Ham have also struggled this season, but the potential to play European football could be enough to persuade Pickford and/or Onana to make a move to East London.

The pair have performed admirably for the Toffees this season, and are among just a few Everton players who can hold their heads high.
