Everton has made a concrete move to sign a new manager as Sean Dyche replacement

Everton is planning to sack Sean Dyche as manager if they stay in the Premier League and have already made contact with Luis Castro about replacing him.

The Toffees need a victory against Bournemouth on the final day of the season to guarantee their Premier League status for next season, but could still stay up without a win if other results go in their favor.

With the club now planning for the new season in the top flight, a report from reliable journalist Duncan Castles in the Daily Record (25 May) claims the club is planning to sack the man who has secured their status and replace him at the first opportunity.

“Everton have begun a search for a new manager in the expectation that the club will retain its Premier League status in Sunday’s final round of fixtures,” they wrote.

“Candidates have been sounded out as potential replacements for Sean Dyche, who was appointed at the end of January in order to keep the troubled Merseyside club in the division.

“Record Sport understands that Everton has made initial contact with Botafogo coach Luis Castro.

“The Portuguese coach is in his second season of a two-year contract at the Rio de Janeiro club, who currently lead the Campeonato Brasileiro’s Serie A after winning the Taca Rio.”

Is Everton sacking Dyche after keeping them in the division? Surely not.

Dyche has brought a fantastic level of stability since joining the club in January and while results haven’t been ideal, he’s done very well with a squad that isn’t his and doesn’t have a recognized striker.

Several players have improved massively under him including Michael Keane, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dwight McNeil, and James Garner and he knows how to get results in the Premier League.

There is very little known about Castro and while he is clearly doing well in Brazil right now, this is a completely different kettle of fish.

It begs the question who is Moshiri listening to and do MSP Sports Capital have anything to do with this since they’re about to invest in the club?
