Leicester City could lose out on transfer target Darío Osorio if they do not make an offer this week, according to a report.
City has been linked with a move for the 19-year-old, who currently plays for Universidad de Chile over in South America. Recent reports in his home continent have suggested a $ 7 million offer is on the table from Leicester, though that appears not to be the case.
In 2022, Osorio scored seven goals in 22 appearances during the Chilean Primera Division season. This calendar year, however, he has yet to score in nine appearances. But despite that, he is still highly regarded as one of the top young prospects on the continent and has been attracting attention from Europe.
An update from TNT Sports in Chile says that the situation is “complicated”, and that Leicester is yet to make a “formal proposal”, though such an offer is “still expected” by Universidad de Chile.
Dealing with an offer from Leicester will be a priority for the Chilean club, though it’s said they will move on and listen to offers from elsewhere if Leicester does not put a bid in “this week”.
With uncertainty looming large at Leicester this season, including a gigantic wage bill to reduce and a manager to be hired, a deadline of this week may be cutting it fine to secure the young player’s services.
