Six players who could leave Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window

Steve Cooper has some big calls to make on existing members of his Nottingham Forest squad this summer.

It seems highly unlikely Steve Cooper will endure such a hectic summer of trading for the second consecutive year as he prepares his Nottingham Forest squad for their second season in the Premier League.

Yet the former Swansea City manager still has some big calls to make on some members of his squad that are said to be attracting interest from elsewhere. Such was the level of activity during the last summer transfer window and January’s trading period, Cooper currently has a sizable number of senior professionals among his ranks, despite several departing after their loan spells came to an end. However, that’s not to say they won’t be considering new options.

With the summer transfer window now well underway, we’ve looked at the Forest players that could be heading for the exit door before the new season gets underway.

Josh Bowler

Just under a year has passed since the former Blackpool winger joined Forest from the Championship club. However, the 24-year-old is yet to pull on the famous red shirt after spending an unsuccessful spell on loan at Greek side Olympiakos before returning to Blackpool for the second half of last season.

Bowler is now back with Forest and could be allowed to leave the City Ground on a permanent basis this summer as he enters the final year of his current deal.

Another player that spent time on loan at Olympiakos, the 56-times capped South Korea international is yet to make an appearance for Forest after joining them from Bordeaux last summer. After failing to impress in Greece, Hwang spent the second half of the campaign back in his homeland, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 appearances for FC Seoul.

Much like Bowler, neither loan spell produced anything spell and there is a feeling he could depart the club this summer.

Jonathan Panzo

The former Chelsea academy defender joined Forest from French club Dijon just under 18 months ago after impressing for the Ligue 1 side.
