WHAT A GREAT NEWS: amazing talented young star has signed a four-year contract with Leicester City

We have reached an agreement with Leicester City for the transfer of Harry Winks.

A product of our Academy, Harry progressed through our ranks and was handed his professional debut as an 18-year-old in our 1-0 Europa League group stage win over Partizan Belgrade in November 2014.

Harry Winks hailed by Sampdoria boss as Tottenham man handed full Serie A debut vs Udinese - football.london

In total, Harry made 203 appearances during his time with us, which included standout performances in our games against Real Madrid as we progressed through the 2017/18 Champions League group stage undefeated. Scoring five goals in our colors, the first of which came in his first full league start as we defeated West Ham United 3-2 at White Hart Lane in November, 2016, he captained the side for a Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in March, 2020.

Now 27, Harry spent time on loan at Italian side Sampdoria last season where he made 20 appearances. He also has 10 international caps for England.

We wish Harry all the best for the future.

Transfer news from Leicester City as the club strengthens its squad ahead of the 2023/24 Championship season

Leicester City have completed the signing of Harry Winks from Spurs on a three-year deal.

The 27-year-old arrives to bolster Fox’s midfield following James Maddison’s move to Spurs this week. Winks, who has come through the youth system at White Hart Lane, has ten caps for England although the last of those was three years ago.

He spent last season on loan with Serie A side Sampdoria and impressed with his performances in Italy, despite the club’s relegation at the end of the season. Reports earlier this week suggested the transfer fee is likely to be around the £10m mark.

The signing comes as manager Enzo Maresca gets his plans in place. Treble-winning Manchester City assistant coach Maresca was appointed Leicester boss on June 16 as the club seeks an immediate return to the Premier League after relegation in May.

Maresca, who replaced Dean Smith, is leading a Leicester side who are back in the Championship for the first time in ten years.
