Coventry City are said to be ‘in talks to sign Everton striker Ellis Simms.
The Sky Blues look set to lose star striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer and boss Mark Robins appears set to replace him with 22-year-old Simms.
The youngster impressed in the Championship last season during a loan spell at Sunderland from Goodison Park.
He scored seven goals in 17 league appearances for the Black Cats before returning to Everton in January.
He went on to play in 11 Premier League matches for Everton, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as Sean Dyche’s side scrambled to Premier League safety.
Simms is said to have attracted a lot of transfer interest this summer, but it is Coventry who are leading the race for his signature, according to journalist Alan Myers, with a deal between the two clubs expected to be agreed by the weekend.
