Latest Tottenham injury news as four players to miss Southampton amid Ivan Perisic update

World Cup 2022: Tottenham's Ivan Perisic breaks incredible record with goal for Croatia | FourFourTwo

Tottenham will hope to end their inconsistent form of recent weeks and record back-to-back Premier League wins when they face Southampton next weekend.

Antonio Conte has made his return to the touchline in recent days, following his absence after gall bladder surgery. The Italian has had some tough decisions to make this season due to injuries, and he still faces some problems ahead of next weekend’s match with the relegation-threatened Saints.

Having beaten Nottingham Forest, Spurs have consolidated their position in the top four with their rivals dropping points. This means that a win on what could be a tricky trip to the South Coast would provide a huge boost and restore some positivity after a tough spell for Conte.

Two players who are likely to be back for the match are Ivan Perisic and Emerson Royal, with the pair both having been out of action against Forest with knocks. Conte confirmed both players’ short-term absence on Friday, saying: “Another situation we have to monitor is about Perisic. He had a training session today but tomorrow, for sure, I want to speak to him to understand if he also is available for the bench.”

However, there remain long-term absentees, Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Ryan Sessegnon who will all miss this week’s fixture. Though, Lloris and Sessegnon are expected to be back following the international break at the end of this month.

Bentancur will be out until next season, unfortunately, with his knee injury being the main long-term concern alongside Bissouma. Meanwhile, there are currently no issues with suspension and all other players will be available for the trip to Southampton as a result.
