‘DANIEL LEVY WON’T CARE’: TOTTENHAM SENT BLUNT TRANSFER MESSAGE ABOUT ‘VERY UNDERRATED’ PLAYER

Kevin Hatchard says Daniel Levy ‘won’t care’ about Uli Hoeness’ public comments about Bayern Munich wanting to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.

The Bundesliga commentator and European football expert claimed on Twitter that the ‘real talks’ with Bayern Munich about Harry Kane took place on Thursday, as he doubts the German champions can meet the transfer fee on the 29-year-old’s head.

For some, with Bayern’s honourary president speaking so openly about Kane, it has probably added another £20 million for Kane’s signature, but Hatchard disagrees as he pointed out that Hoeness is someone that is a known ‘maverick’ for how he goes about things.

When Manchester City came knocking, Daniel Levy was in a much stronger position because of the length of his star striker’s contract.

But that’s not the case now because he only has 12 months left to run and, as of this moment, the signs don’t lead to him putting pen-to-paper on a new deal.

That was touched upon by Hatchard, who thinks that it would be a ‘nightmare scenario’ if Spurs lose Kane to another Premier League rival for free next summer.

“Levy’s not an inexperienced negotiator, and I doubt he’ll care about what Hoeness is saying,” said Hatchard.

“Everyone in football knows he’s a maverick. The real talks took place on Thursday. Levy will have a price I’m sure, but it’s not certain Bayern will meet it.

“But it’s tough to see how that benefits Tottenham. If they lose him to a PL rival for free in a year, that’s surely the nightmare scenario?”

Will Levy fend off Bayern?

If Levy is of the stance that he doesn’t want to sell Kane and he is willing to take a financial hit given his contract situation, then you can bet your bottom dollar that he will stay.

But it does open the door for the Englishman to join another Premier League club next season? Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique recently claimed via his Instagram story in June that he would love the ‘very underrated’ striker at Anfield.

Well, you can put the names of all the elite teams in England on the table if Kane does indeed leave for nothing in 2024.
