Breaking News: Nottingham Forest now open talks to sign ‘insane’ Premier League player

Nottingham Forest have now initiated contact with Manchester United over the signing of Dean Henderson. The Red Devils are nearing the signing of Andre Onana and that will open the door for Forest to pounce.

According to The Athletic, talks have now opened over a transfer fee for the goalkeeper. It’s anticipated that there will be no issues with agreeing personal terms with Henderson who wants to go to Forest.

The saga involving Henderson moving to the City Ground has dragged on a little bit. The situation with David de Gea at United has led to Erik Ten Hag needing Henderson to stick around at Old Trafford.

Forest had Henderson on loan during the 2022/23 campaign. He replaced Brice Samba who was signed by Lens and kept six clean sheets in 20 appearances before suffering a serious injury in January.

The thigh injury he sustained against Leicester came at an awful time. He was just starting to showcase his full potential at Forest but a routine goal-kick led to him writing in agony and missing the rest of the season.

Henderson was still active at Forest though. He did all of his rehabilitation at the City Ground and kicked every ball with his teammates from the stands as they secured Premier League safety.

The stopper has enjoyed some good moments in his career so far. In 2020 he was called ‘insane’ by Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.

Forest is now in talks with Manchester United over the Henderson deal

This is a deal that needs sorting for everybody’s sanity! The talking has been taking place since Forest ensured their Premier League survival and appears as though Henderson wants to sign.

With Onana coming to United, his chances of first-team football look very slim indeed. Henderson has made it crystal clear in the past that he’s craving regular action at this stage of his career.

Forest would welcome the opportunity to have Henderson back in their squad. They’re in desperate need of goalkeepers and at 26, the United man could be the club’s regular stopped for many years.
