TOTTENHAM SET TO COMPLETE SIGNING OF ‘AMAZING’ TALENT AS LIVERPOOL MISS OUT

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Blackburn Rovers defender Ashley Phillips despite interest from Liverpool.

A host of Premier League clubs are set to miss out on Ashley Phillips with a move to Tottenham Hotspur now imminent.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Tottenham will soon snap up Blackburn Rover’s talent Phillips for around £ 3 million.

This will be a blow to a number of Premier League clubs with Phillips a wanted man.

Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are all claimed to have been in the race to sign Phillips but Spurs will snap him up.

The plan from there is to loan Phillips out in the hope that he can continue his development elsewhere.

Maybe that will be back to Blackburn or maybe Spurs have plans for him to try a new environment.

Either way, Spurs are on the verge of signing Phillips and leaving their Premier League rivals disappointed.

Tottenham will be delighted to finally sign Ashley Phillips

This is a pretty cheap deal for Tottenham, who have been chasing Phillips for a while now.

The Daily Mail reported in August of last year that Tottenham were on the verge of signing Phillips.

It was claimed that Fabio Paratici was heading to watch Blackburn take on Reading in the hope of finalizing a deal.

Phillips ended up staying at Rovers instead and made 14 first-team appearances last season.

Spurs haven’t backed away though and are finally set to land the defender in a move with the future in mind.

Ashley Phillips completes Tottenham medical ahead of £3m move

Phillips is only 18 but has shown enormous potential at Blackburn and with England at youth level.

A 6ft 4in center back, Phillips could become the future of the Spur’s defense with the right development plan.

Hailed as an ‘amazing footballer’ by former Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray, Phillips looks to be a huge talent and Tottenham will be ecstatic to have beaten their Premier League rivals to his signature.
