Newsnow: A 26-year-old will replace Harry Kane at Tottenham after he quits the club.

The Times has claimed that should Harry Kane leave Tottenham this summer. Richarlison would be expected to lead the line during the upcoming season.

Over the last week, the likes of Juventus‘ Dusan Vlahovic (SportMediaSet), Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani (RMC Sport), and even Brentford’s Ivan Toney (Football Transfers) have all been mooted as potential replacements for Kane.

However, it was reported by The Independent a couple of days ago that Spurs believe it would be ‘virtually impossible’ to find a direct replacement for the England captain, which is why the plan is to reshape the team’s forward line in the event of the 29-year-old’s departure.

Richarlison to lead the line if Harry Kane leaves

The Times has now made a similar claim, stating that Richarlison will feature as the number nine for Ange Postecoglou’s men next season if Kane’s move to Bayern goes through.

The publication adds that Tottenham would try and sign a young, up-and-coming forward, who can compete with the Brazilian, while Son Heung-min could also be used in a central role on occasion.

While replacing Kane’s goals would be very difficult as he is undoubtedly one of the best number nines in the world, there is no doubt that Richarlison is a better fit for Postecoglou’s system.

The Brazilian’s relentless pressing would help us win the ball higher up the pitch, which could translate to quite a few more goals over the course of the campaign.

However, there is no doubt that we need to bring in another forward who would be able to guarantee around 15 goals.
