good news: Nottingham Forest new signing was spotted in training for the first time

Nottingham Forest star spotted in training as he steps up recovery

Nottingham Forest defender Felipe looks to be stepping up his return to full fitness after missing pre-season through injury. The centre-back won’t be involved on Saturday at Arsenal but he is now back doing some sort of training.

The Reds defender is integral to Steve Cooper’s plans. Even at 34 years old, he was one of the most important players in the Forest squad last season and hopefully, he can be back quickly.

Felipe checked in at Forest for £1.8 million in January. He signed a deal to remain at the club for 18 months and it looks likely that he will stay as an important member of the squad this season.

It’s quite devastating that he won’t be able to play this weekend. He was absolutely colossal against Arsenal when they played the Gunners at the City Ground in May but he could be working his way back very soon.

Felipe has been spotted for the first time this pre-season in training. He’s been careful with a knee injury and now it looks as though he’s stepping up his efforts to return to the squad.

The experienced performer will be sorely missed whilst he’s out. During the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, Felipe made 16 appearances for the Red; warming himself to the supporters with some top performances.

This is big news. The video that has been doing the rounds on Instagram might only be baby steps but at least Felipe has the training gear on and looks to be edging closer to full fitness.

It remains to be seen just how far Felipe is from a return. Hopefully from a Forest point of view, it won’t be long and he can be available as quickly as possible.

The Reds enforcer has enjoyed a sound career. He played in the Champions League for Atletico Madrid and Forest pulled off a bit of a coup when they managed to sign him.

Now, the requirement to get him out on the bench is massive. Moussa Niakhate is also out injured and Forest’s fate likely relies heavily on how much football Felipe misses at the start of the campaign.
