Rangers has now won the race to sign a Championship star

Rangers transfer news as Bristol City forward Sam Bell wanted at Ibrox

Rangers are admirers of Bristol City forward Sam Bell although face competition from a host of Premier League clubs, according to teamTALK.

The digital news publication has reported online (8 August) that Bell has caught the eyes of various clubs, including the likes of Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Wolves, after his breakthrough season for Bristol City last year.

Rangers and Brighton are the only two clubs who can offer the 21-year-old European football, although will face a tough task luring him away from Ashton Gate with his current club aware of the interest and keen to tie him down to a new deal that will see his pay increased.

He began the season with a goal and a man-of-the-match performance during a 1-1 draw with Preston on Saturday 5 August and the Robins will be keen to keep hold of him as widespread interest emerges.

Exciting

Bristol City are continuing to develop young and exciting talents who are being linked with moves away from the Championship club. Alex Scott and Tommy Conway are both products of the club’s youth set up and the two of them have been linked, just like Bell, with high-profile switches.

For the Gers and Michael Beale, this would be a really exciting addition to the club’s attack. In 41 appearances for the Robins, Bell has scored seven times, including six in 29 matches across all competitions last season.

It has been a busy summer for Rangers and could get even busier. With Premier League competition for the youngster’s signature, a move could prove tricky, although Beale’s men are the only ones who can currently offer Champions League football.

This is certainly one to watch as the window develops with the club’s transfer business clearly not yet finished.

In other Rangers News, supporters will not be happy with Beale’s latest admission.
