Sources: Major update on Everton deal for Beto after new talks

Everton are continuing to work on a deal to sign Udinese striker Beto as they look to make him their fourth summer capture, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders are in negotiations with the Serie A club to loan the 25-year-old Portuguese forward with an obligation to buy.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (13th August) that Everton were in advanced talks over a deal for Beto.

It is believed that Udinese are willing to part ways with Beto, who is contracted until 2026

Everton are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements and have already completed the signing of one Portuguese forward this summer.

Youssef Chermiti, 19, joined the Merseysiders for a reported £15million fee from Sporting Lisbon earlier this week.

He joins Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma as new arrivals in Sean Dyche’s squad this window.

Dyche will hope Beto can add some much-needed firepower to his Toffees side after they missed a handful of big chances in a frustrating 1-0 loss to Fulham in their Premier League opener this weekend.

Beto scored 10 goals in all competitions for Udinese last season in 34 appearances, putting him level in the league’s scoring table with Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic.

Beto initially joined Udinese on loan for the 2021/22 season, where he scored 11 goals in 28 appearances.

He has already started the 2023/24 campaign in fine form after scoring and assisting in Udinese’s first-round Italy Cup win over Catanzaro on Friday.
